The purpose of this paper was to highlight the relative importance of cultural investment for the development of Chinese culture industry and to present a basic data for an effective investment management of Chinese culture industry in the future. For this purpose, this paper has classified the cultural, sports and media (entertainment industry) sector into one cultural industry, produced a new cultural industry association table by using the 2010 industry association table issued by the Bureau of Statistics of China in 2013, then analyzed the ripple effects of economic impacts by the cultural industry investment. In particular, this study has analyzed the pure ripple effect of culture industry only by using exogenous technique, then suggested policy implications for the promotion and development direction of Chinese cultural industry in the future. The economic ripple effects of Chinese cultural industry investment (based on 2010 government expenditure of 154.27 billion yuan) were as follows. First, the production inducement effect was totaled 9,063.7 billion yuan, led by the chemical industry accounting for 13.51 billion yuan, 13.5% of the total, followed by paper & printing, cultural education, physical education, food processing and tobacco processing, and agricultural/ forestry/ farming/ fishery industry, respectively. Second, the added value inducement effect was totaled 2,921.1 billion yuan, and the biggest was agricultural/ forestry/ farming/ fishery industry with 347.6 billion yuan, followed by paper printing, cultural education, physical education, chemical industry, wholesale and retail trade, financing, food processing, and tobacco processing industry, respectively. Third, the total income inducement amount was 1,298.3 billion yuan, and the highest level was agricultural/ forestry/ farming/ fishery industry with 330.7 billion yuan, then followed by paper printing, cultural education, physical education, chemical industry, transportation & warehousing, and accommodation & restaurant industry, respectively. Fourth, the total production tax inducement amount was 471.1 billion yuan, while the wholesale and retail trade industry was the highest by 55.6 billion yuan, followed by food & tobacco processing, chemical industry, paper printing & cultural education, physical education, petroleum processing, coke & nuclear processing, respectively. Finally, the total number of labor inducement was 19,588 in all industries, of which 6,363 were directly and 13,224 indirectly induced labor. By industry, agricultural/ farming/ forestry/ farming/ fishery industry were the highest by 3,994 people, followed by manufacturing, transport & warehousing, public management & social organization, gas, water, and power & fuel production, and trading industry, respectively. Like this, the economic impact of investment in China's cultural industry has been concentrated in specific fields, such as paper & printing, cultural & physical education, food & tobacco processing, and agriculture/forestry/farming/fishery industry. It was because Chinese cultural industry was at its beginning stage, so that the activities of cultural industry could not play a pivotal role. However, as the Chinese government has recognized the importance of the cultural industry and increased the investment for it, so, if the investment management could be more efficient, the cultural industry could be used as an engine for Chinese economic growth. In this study, the economic ripple effects of investment in Chinese culture industry has been analyzed by using the industry association table, but it would be necessary to compensate the limitations by taking into full consideration of various assumptions and statistical processing methods used for the industry association analysis. In order to analyze the structural changes of the investment for Chinese cultural industry and the trend of its influence change in the future, it would be necessary to adopt various methods such as a fixed industry association table based on a specific year, general balance analysis and so on.
