Recently disasters due to social and environmental factors are increasing. In the event of an emergency such as a disaster, it is important to know the latest information about the area in order to respond immediately to the disaster. Through the latest information about the area, it is possible to make informed decisions and provide immediate responses. It is now possible to acquire site information safely and quickly through cameras mounted on unmanned aerial vehicles by taking advantage of the advantages of unmanned aerial vehicles. The image is the most intuitive means of understanding the situation. The image-map generated from the image includes not only the visual information but also the location information, so the image-map generated from the image is used as the basic data of disaster response. In this paper, we propose a rapid image-map generation method for real-time monitoring. We choose a method that can perform fast image matching for rapid image-map generation. Using the sample data with various image changes, we select fast matching method which is superior among existing image matching methods. The image-maps are generated by using the selected matching method. The conjugate point is calculated using the image transmitted in real-time and the position/attitude data of the unmanned aerial vehicle. The initial exterior orientation parameter is determined using the unmanned aircraft position/attitude data through direct georeferencing. When the condition for performing the bundle adjustment is reached, the bundle adjustment is performed to estimate the exterior orientation parameter and the ground point coordinates of the image. When performing the bundle adjustment, the reference data is not used but only the accuracy of the GPS/IMU sensor is set as a constraint. An image-map is generated using the exterior orientation parameter and the ground point coordinates. The mean height surface is defined using the average value of the ground point coordinates. The geometric correction is performed using the defined the mean height surface and an individual orthoimage is generated. The rapid image-map generation method was verified through experiments. We created image-maps using two datasets with different characteristics. Each dataset consists of 49 images and 38 images. The accuracy of the generated image-map was quantitatively identified by relative accuracy and absolute accuracy. Relative accuracy was defined as the degree of coincidence of the coordinates of the same position measured in the adjacent image-map. Absolute accuracy is defined as the positional accuracy of an individual image-map relative to the accurate absolute position of the feature. The image-maps generated from the two datasets was calculated with an absolute accuracy of 1.55 m and a relative accuracy of 0.78 m. In this study, it is confirmed that the image-map is generated using a small number of observations in a short time. As a result of checking the processing time for each step, one image-map could be generated within the image acquisition period (5 seconds). It is expected that it is possible to generate more accurate/absolutely accurate image-map by using the rapid image-map generation method. Through the proposed method, it is confirmed that it can be used to grasp the current state of the disaster area using the image-map generated in real-time.
