This study was aimed to investigate bryophyte flora of Mt. Taebaek National Park in Korea. In addition, the characteristics of bryophyte flora was also discussed in this study. Nine field surveys were carried out from Apr. 2017 to Oct. 2017, which enabled to collect and identified 275 taxa which belong to 68 families, 147 genera, 264 species, 3 subspecies, 8 varieties. Among them, 168 taxa belonging to 39 families, 97 genera, 160 species, 1 subspecies, 7 varieties were mosses and 107 species belonging to 30 families, 50 genera, 104 species, 2 subspecies, 1 varieties were liverworts. A total of 92 species were newly added to bryophyte flora of Mt. Taebaek National Park through this study. Those species include 65 species of mosses and 27 species of liverworts. In addition, 6 species which show very narrow distribution pattern within Korean Peninsula were revealed to distribute in Mt. Taebaek National Park in Korea. Those species include Sphagnum capillifolium (Ehrh.) Hedw., Sphagnum girgensohnii Russow, Buxbaumia punctata P.-C. Chen et X.-J. Li, Pleuroziopsis ruthenica (Weinm.) Kindb., Ptilium crista-castrensis (Hedw.) De Not., Macrodipolphyllum plicatum (Lindb.) Perss. In analysis of the latitude fractional composition in Mt. Taebaek National Park with Korean liverworts, 25 taxa (23.4%) were temperate, 21 (19.6%) were temperate-subtropical, 19 (17.8%) were arctic-boreal, 14 (13.0%) were boreal-temperature, 13 (12.1%) were boreal, 48 (14.6%) were arctic-boreal, 8 (7.5%) were subtropical, 5 (4.7%) were cosmopolitan and 2 (1.9%) were arctic species. The arctic-boreal and boreal species were mainly distributed in stony region near ridge of Janggunbong, Moonsubong and Hambaek.
