Abstract The Prospects and Strategies For US-China Trade War Trade disputes like this have been in the past. Trade is a history of conflict. Since 1450, the status of a hegemonic nation has been dominated by trade. The trade dispute between the U.S. and China is a hegemonic struggle and a check of the No. 2 man. Thus, it will not only be a trade war but also a currency war, exchange rate war, financial war, energy war such as oil, and military war. Taking issue with various reasons, including the unfairness of China's trade policies, intellectual property rights and government subsidies, and taking advantage of China's debt problems and weak yuan's weakness in the international market, the United States will try to make China a permanent middle power through such wars and so on. The trade war will hurt the United States and China, and it will have a negative impact on Korea, which is in sync with the U.S. and China due to its high dependence on trade. Therefore, Korea should prepare for the crisis derived from the trade war through the proper risk management ability of businesses and financial institutions as well as growth policies through investment expansion. Nevertheless, the government should prepare for possible financial market instability, a second foreign exchange crisis, and take appropriate measures such as a large rate increase at the time of the foreign exchange crisis.
