To cope with climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, various studies are underway in the architecture to develop the elementary technologies of passive design related to energy performance and to realize zero energy architecture. Since 2025, the zero energy building has been required for newly constructed buildings. However, since 2009, when Korea’s zero energy roadmap was first established, concrete action plans such as building energy efficiency rating and zero energy building certification have been strengthened, but in the residential sector, it was focused on apartment house, so there are no concrete goals in single-family house or single-family housing complex. To cope with the increase in the reduction due to the strengthening of the national roadmap for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in 2018, it is necessary to improve the systems for single-family house that produces lager amount of greenhouse gas emission per unit area. In this study, the author has analyzed five energy demand and energy consumption of buildings that changed when the single-family house is expanded to the concept of complex by applying the elementary technologies of passive design and active design. And this study is intended to provide basic data that enable it to set the basic directions considering energy supply by energy performance from the planning stage of block type single-family housing complex by suggesting the conversion of heat and electric energy according to energy source supply system alternative. To this end, basic data for analyzing the elementary technologies of passive design of zero energy single-family house and the block-type single-family housing complex were prepared and a standard single-family house was set up to analyze the energy performance. For standard single-family houses, 3 types: independent single-family house, the two household stand-alone multi-family house and the four stand-alone multi-family house were suggested for comparing and analyzing energy performance differences by type. To analyze the energy performance of the standard single-family house, the elementary technologies of passive design standard was presented. To analyze the energy saving resulting from the strengthening of energy performance compared to the regulation standards in 2018, the energy enhancement stage has been subdivided into the low energy house standard(less than 3L) and the passive house standard(less than 1.5L). For the energy performance analysis, energy simulations (PHPP) was used to calculate five building energy demand for standard single-family house in Chungbu 2(Seoul). The 3 types of standard single-family house to which passive house standards are applied are all 1.5L house level. For cooling and heating energy demand that can be saved through the elementary technologies of passive design, 58% reduction can be achieved in independent single-family house, 54% in the two household stand-alone multi-family house, and 52% in the four household stand-alone multi-family house. The cooling and heating energy demand of the independent single-family house to which passive house standard is applied is 35.9kWh/(㎡·year), and if the same energy performance is applied to two household stand-alone multi-family house and the four household stand-alone multi-family house, 12% (31.6kWh/(㎡·year)) and 29% (25.5kWh/(㎡·year)) can be saved more. In the stand-alone multi-family house with an increase in the number of households through attached walls, the A/V ratio, which means the ratio of the area of the enclosure where energy is lost due to the outside air and the volume of the building surrounding the enclosure, is lowered and there is no heat loss in the wall between respective households, which is analyzed to advantageous in the aspect of prevention of conductive heat loss. Therefore, in the aspect of land efficiency and energy performance, it is advantageous to plan a stand-alone multi-family house through attached wall. To analyze energy performance that changes as standard single-family house is deployed in a complex, energy performance was analyzed by dividing the standard single-family housing complex land shape into three types: vertical rectangle, horizontal rectangle, and squares. When individual single-family houses are constructed as complex, the shape of the single-family house land causes limitations of the directions for the single-family house located only on the sides of the complex. In addition, all single-family houses are shaded on the glass surface due to the influence of surrounding buildings. As a result, the heating energy demand in winter increases and the cooling energy demand in summer decreases. In particular, the two and four stand-alone multi-family house deployed on the western side and eastern side based on the passive house side were analyzed to have the heating energy demand more than twice as high as those on the southern side due to the change of the strike of the house and the influence of surrounding buildings. The increase of the heating energy demand is 50% according to the change of the strike of stand-alone single-family house, but the increase rate grows bigger in the case of complex. All three types of standard single-family house to which passive house standards are applied are able to achieve the level of passive houses(less than 1.5L). However, when constructed as a complex, the independent single-family house and two household stand-alone multi-family houses are analyzed to be at the level of low-energy house(less than 3L) due to the shape of the single-family house and the influence of surrounding building. In the case of four household stand-alone multi-family house, 1.5L house level can be achieved in horizontal rectangle and square stand-alone multi-family house. But in case of vertical rectangle single-family housing complex, it is analyzed to be similar to or rather higher than 1.5L house due to the households deployed on western side and eastern side. In the aspect of the energy demand of a single-family housing complex, the most favorable land shape is the horizontal rectangle shape, which facilitates it to deploy the building to face south, followed by square land and vertical rectangle land. The heating, cooling, hot water, ventilation, and lighting energy consumed in buildings should be supplied by converting energy into heat and electricity through the supply system according to the energy source of fossil energy and renewable energy. The energy consumed in heating, cooling and hot water is supplied after being converted into heat energy, and the energy consumed in ventilation and lighting is supplied after electric energy is converted. The energy supply system according to the energy source is presented in 4 types, and 5 building energy consumption for buildings by energy source supply system alternative was calculated. In addition, by using PVsyst, which is a solar power analysis tool, the power output of the solar panel installed on the roof was calculated. The favorable energy conversion order in the aspect of the final energy is in the order of supply system 3 (geothermal + PV)> supply system 4 (PV)> supply system 1 (gas + PV)> supply system 2 (district heating + PV). In the aspect of carbon dioxide emissions and primary energy, the supply system 2 (district heating + PV) alternative was analyzed to be the most efficient. Due to the expansion of solar power household and energy storage system (ESS), there is an increasing number of houses that directly consume the electric energy produced without reversely transmitting it through grid system. In this case, the primary energy conversion factor should not be applied to the amount of power produced by the solar panel. From the viewpoint of the net zero primary energy using ESS, it is analyzed that supply system 3 (geothermal + PV) is the most effective and supply system 1 (gas + electricity) should be avoided. The results of this study are expected to contribute to continued follow-up studies and policy development to achieve the zero energy of the block type single-family housing complex through the analysis of the heat and electric energy conversion according to the energy source by applying the elementary technologies of passive design to minimize the energy load of the single-family house.
