구조층은 비스페놀 A(Bisphenol A type)의 에폭시가 사용되었고, 희생층은 Nitrocellulose, PVA, PDMS가 사용되었다.

Air-gap structure is required for highly sensitive touch sensors, acceleration sensors, and gyro sensors which have been commercialized. Wearable sensors and soft robot sensors that have been studied actively need flexible sensors instead of existing rigid PCB sensors. Flexible sensors are often fabricated not by conventional semiconductor process but by solution process and printed electronics process. In previous studies, air-gap sensors were fabricated in a way that PDMS (Polydimethylsiloxane) is coated as a support and air gaps are formed by bonding both substrates. In this study, a capacitive air-gap touch sensor was fabricated similarly to the wet etching method, unlike the conventional adhesion method. Chemical reactivity of the structure layer when the sacrificial layer remover was used was investigated. Bisphenol A type epoxy was used as the structural layer, and Nitrocellulose, PVA and PDMS were used as the sacrificial layer. Acetone, H2O and TBAF solutions were used as the solvents according to the sacrificial materials. Experimental results show that the sacrificial material PVA has an advantage that an air-gap with a similar thickness to that of the sacrificial layer can be formed. Compared with the PDMS touch sensor, which is an elastic insulator, the fabricated air-gap touch sensor showed about 13 times higher sensitivity for 0.1 ~ 0.5 N and about 4 times higher sensitivity for 0.5 ~ 1.5 N. In this study, several sacrificial materials were tested, and a suitable one was proposed for fabricating flexible air-gap touch sensors, which could be applied to printed electronics processes.
