As the amount of usage of smart phone is increasing nowadays, the number of people with 'call phobia' who evades or even fears telephone calls is increasing. Accordingly the necessity of self-expression for positive interaction with other people is also increasing. Especially the teenage middle and high school students who were born in the era when people can learn many things only with a smart phone and fingers naturally experience the daily practice of indirect communication and eventually do not feel much necessity for interaction with others. Therefore, it is necessary to provide middle and high school students with a program appropriate to cultivate 'the power of self-expression' which can correct their negative expression and express positive expression. Recognizing 'the power of self-expression' as an absolutely necessary education for middle and high school students in their adolescent period, a integrational dance education program which can improve the power of self-expression of middle and high school students was developed in this study. Before developing the program, I set the definition of the power of self-expression and conducted a literature searching for the concept and subfactors of self-expression asserted by diversified scholars, and could find the problems by investigating the status of self-expression learning in the various fields of arts in Korea. In addition, I explored the educational effects based on the theory of integrational dance education and looked into the existing studies on the relation between self-expression learning and dance education. The integrational dance education program developed on the basis of such literature searching is as follows; The integrational dance education program for the self-expression improvement of middle and high school students is composed of 10 rounds in total and designed with 3 steps; 'exploring', 'expressing' and 'sharing'. The first step is a stage to explore the basic concept of moving and dancing through dance reading so that students may make exploration from the body recognition to movement analysis step by step. The second step is a stage to learn the ways to express diversly their body using movement elements so that students may make expression in connection with various ballet works and movement elements. The last 3rd step is a stage to construct and create a work through group activity so that the students may practice their own self-expression in the process of respecting, understanding and cooperating each other. I hope the effect of the integrational dance education program developed as above would be validated so that it can be applied in education sites and expect it can be utilized as the basic material of integrational dance education program to improve the power of self-expression for middle and high school students.
