The volume of construction waste material from the entire waste material volume in Korea is approximately 47.3% to take the biggest ratio, and from them, the waste concrete takes up approximately 62.8% that recycling is an urgent issue to address. Therefore, pursuant to the provision of Article 35 of the『Construction Waste Recycling Promotion Act』, the government recommends more diverse and broader facilitation of the recycled aggregate through the quality standard of the recycled aggregate in order to promote recycling the construction waste materials. However, for the case of building improvement taking most of the construction projects, the use of the recycled aggregate for concrete is not obligatory and users also avoid the same due to the high absorption rate, low density, quality deviation and so forth of the recycled aggregate. In addition, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has expanded and revised the volume of use and scope of application by strengthening the quality of recycled aggregate for concrete to the quality standard of the recycled aggregate in a way of enthusiastic recommendation for the use of the recycled aggregate for concrete. The quality standard is strengthened its standard of density and absorption rate of the recycled fine aggregate from the existing density of 2.2 g/cm3 and absorption rate of 5% to the density of 2.3 g/cm3 and absorption rate of 4%. And the volume of use and scope of application is to require the use of 30% or less for the recycled coarse aggregate on the concrete for existing 21~27 MPa structure and the recycled fine aggregate is required to use only for the non-structure purpose of less than 21 MPa. However, if the strengthened recycled fine aggregate is used, it may be used for 30% or less of recycled coarse aggregate for 27 MPa or less. However, under KS F 2527, the quality standard of recycled fine aggregate was strengthened but the volume of use and scope of application was not revised and it was considered that it would be appropriate to gradually expand the volume of use and scope of application of the recycled aggregate in the event that the quality control is flawlessly undertaken with the performance of use is accumulated. As shown above, not with standing the fact that the quality standard of the recycled fine aggregate for concrete has been reinforced, the quality deviation has not been reduced along with the distrust on the quality, the need for the study to improve the concrete quality by using the recycled fine aggregate and the study on quality improvement of the recycled fine aggregate continuously have been on the rise. Henceforth, under this study, for manufacturing high quality recycled aggregate concrete, the development of production facility for quality standard of the recycled fine aggregate and the improvement plan for mixture method are formulated in away of presenting the base data for manufacturing high quality recycled aggregate concrete. For the quality improvement of the recycled fine aggregate, the equipment to remove impure substance and thinning of the recycled fine aggregate has been developed. In the substance resin and ingredient analysis of this facility, the production rate was 96.6% higher and the discharged fines have CaO increased up to 28.8% to confirm the thinning effect. And in the quality experiment, the quality of the recycled fine aggregate is improved with the result of increasing absolute drying density, decrease in absorption rate, increase in performance rate of particle shape decision, decrease of penetration volume of 0.08 ㎜ body, decrease in contents of impure substance and so forth. When using the recycled aggregate, the aggregate mixing facility has been developed for improving the quality deviation of the concrete. In the event that the recycled aggregate and natural aggregate are mixed by applying this equipment prior to producing the ready-mix concrete, it was possible to produce outstanding concrete with the difference of unit capacity volume of mortar and the difference of the unit coarse aggregate volume were within the KS and the deviation was improved in the compressive strength when they are mixed. For the air volume and slump, the recycled coarse aggregate had the use rate of 60% to be appropriate, and the recycled fine aggregate before the improvement had 30% of the use rate to be appropriate, and in the event that it is used any more, the air volume was improved and the slump was decreased. In addition, after the improvement, the recycled fine aggregate did not have the air volume increased when 100% is used, but it displayed the tendency of the slump to decrease when 60% is used. Under the compressive strength, it showed the compressive strength tend to increase at the 60% of use rate for the recycled coarse aggregate, and up to 30% of the recycled fine aggregate before improvement. In the event of using it any more than that, the compressive strength is declined and this is considered to be attributable to the influence of increased air volume. In addition, the recycled fine aggregate after the improvement, the compressive strength was not lowered in all mixtures and it displayed the similar result with ordinary concrete. In the freezing and thawing resistance, the recycled coarse aggregate and, for the case of the recycled fine aggregate before the improvement, it displayed a slightly higher durability index than ordinary concrete, and for the case of the recycled fine aggregate after the improvement, it displayed similar durability index than the ordinary concrete. For the recycled coarse aggregate and recycled fine aggregate before the improvement, entrained air vapor in the mortar attached to the recycled aggregate lowers the vapor gap coefficient in the concrete to work as a buffer when the moisture is expanded and relaxed from the freezing and thawing action that the durability index was deemed to increase. In the event that the recycled fine aggregate before the improvement is used in the drying shrinkage, it displayed a similar result with the ordinary concrete up to 30% of use, but when it was used for 60 and 100%, the length change rate displayed the tendency of great decrease. Also, in the use of the recycled coarse aggregate and recycled fine aggregate after the improvement, the length change rate was lowered when the use volume of recycled aggregate was increased, but the difference was up to approximately 20% that displayed no significant difference. It is attributable to the fact that the use water was absorbed into the pore of the mortar attached to the recycled aggregate to reduce the water cement ratio to entice the water-cement ratio reducing effect. As shown above, this thesis has presented on method to improve the quality deviation of the concrete that uses the recycled aggregate and method to improve the quality when producing the recycled fine aggregate and it has analyzed the characteristics of the recycled aggregate concrete. Through the foregoing, it is expected to contribute to the facilitation of the recycled fine aggregate for concrete use in the future.
