The effects of the differences of place environment on blood pressure, resting heart rate, cortisol, serotonin, NK-cell, and mood state during meditation and walking exercise원문보기

This research was conducted so as to investigate the effects of meditation and walking exercise of 3 nights and 4 days on blood pressure, heart rate, cortisol, serotonin, NK-Cell and mood state when conducted in different environment. For the subject of research, radio allocation method was applied to 40 healthy male university students who are attending in H university, Gangwon-do. They were divided into 5 groups and wrote questionnaires about mood state. And their blood and heart rate were measured, blood was collected, and then, cortisol, serotonin, and NK-Cell were analyzed. For date processing of the results of this research, mean(M) and standard deviation(SD) were calculated of measured items with SPSS 23.0 statistical program. To verify the differences of variables among groups and periods, twoway repeated measures ANOVA was conducted. For the post verification, LSD was used. The significant level of all statistical processing was set as p<.05.
The results of this research may be abstracted as follows. ◾ Regardless of place environment, meditation made positive effects on systolic blood pressure(SBP), diastolic blood pressure(DBP), and resting heart rate(RHR).
◾ Walking exercise changed systolic blood pressure(SBP) and resting heart rate(RHR) more positively when conducted in forest environment rather than coastal environment.
◾ Meditation made more positive effects on cortisol, serotonin, and NK-Cell level when conducted in forest environment rather than coastal environment.
◾ Walking exercise made positive effects on cortisol, serotonin, and NK-Cell level regardless of place environment. However the degree of positive effects showed downtown environment < coastal environment < forest environment.
◾ Meditation made positive effects on tension sector, depression sector, vitality sector, fatigue sector, etc. among mood states and made more effects in case of forest environment rather than coastal environment.
◾Walking exercise made positive effects on tension sector, anger sector, depression sector, vitality sector, fatigue sector, etc. among mood states and made more positive effects in case of forest environment rather than coastal or downtown environment. However anger sector made more positive effects in case of coastal environment. If generalizing the above contents, meditation or walking exercise made positive effects on physiological, psychological, immune factors and mood state in spite of the different place environments. However same meditation or walking exercise made more positive effects in forest environment rather than downtown environment or coastal environment and natural environment is more effective on health rather than artificial downtown environment. But in case of serotonin level, place environment did not make positive effects. Because of the research result that environmental factors, solar radiation quantity and temperature difference, make an effect on secretion of serotonin (Seo, Jin-hee at al. 2009; Kim, Young-bum, 2012) and report that there are diverse changes of serotonin by object’s age, gender, and individual characteristics (Simon, 2007), it’s necessary to conduct following studies that considering environmental factors, physical actors, and individual characteristics properly so as to increase the secretion of serotonin.
