The study examines the validity of discussion over the image of talent in the age of Fourth Revolution through critical analysis on the basis of human education. The age of Fourth Revolution is the period when the life of humans- which we can sympathize with and reflect upon-can be threatened due to the development of digital technology. The advent of AI(artificial intelligence) is undermining the status of humans as a aesthetic and reasonable being. Thus the study attempts to view the image of future talent, based on the multi-dimensionality of humans through aggregation and criticism of an overall discussion in terms of human education. To approach to the study, In Chapter Two, the meaning of talent was contemplated through the origin of‘talent’both in East and in West; It was revealed that both of them have two meanings: person of talent and qualification. Subsequently, how the view of talent has changed via the First and Second Industry Revolution was identified which humans pursue. It turned out that physical labor-typed talent was pursued in the age of Agriculture Revolution, disciplined talent in the age of the first and second Industry Revolution, and managed talent in the Third Industry Revolution. In Chapter Three, economic and policy-making institutes, government, and pedagogy were analyzed, with the discussion of the image of talent in the recent Fourth Revolution being covered. First, discussion of WEF, OECD, and other related organization-which had led the discussion-was examined and analyzed as economic and policy-making institutions. Second, the features of future talent that the government presents were identified, based on the related discussion of 2015 Educational Curriculum Revision, Future Preparation Committee, and Fourth Revolution committee. Lastly, the study analyzed 14 researches in relation with future talent of the Fourth Revolution in pedagogical area, considering perspectives of each of them by the standards of learning framework-knowledge, skill, personality, meta learning-of Center for Curriculum Redesign, CCR) in order to aggregate the images of talent from a variety of institutes. As a result, 4C(critical thought, creativity, communication, collaboration capability) was evenly seen in the whole field. Especially technology engineering factors were identified to be prominent. The economic point of view was also predominated, which was because the discussion had been implemented for the sake of a study of WEF(World Economic Forum) and OECD(Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development). It turned out that other areas of study followed the result findings. The economy and policy institute focused on how human beings can adapt and react to the environment of the ever-changing Fourth Revolution in the fastest and most efficient way. One with capacity who can adapt to changes promptly is being considered as the future talent. However, it overlooked the fact that humans are basically multi-dimensional beings. Accordingly, Chapter Four presents a variety of dimensions-physical and psychological, social and cultural, mental awakening and meaning-pursuit, and personal dimension-in terms of human education, and emphasizes that future talent should be associated with the education for a whole-person through the overall development of each dimension. Humans do social and cultural activities both physically and psychologically, have an organic thought and make a judgement by combining each dimension, and cultivate morality through existential encounters with others. That is why defining future talent based on a specific capacity suggested by the present-day discussion has its limitation. In Chapter Five, the study critically examined the above-mentioned results multi-dimensionally, and identified the following problems. First, the discussion shows the tendency to define talent on the basis of a capacity, judging form ‘one with an ability to adapt to changes’ Second, it overlooks the physical and psychological dimension, a base step of human existence and development. Third, the excessive emphasis on social and cultural level of talent leads to economy and technology-centered talent, which impose limitations on creative growth and life by relating creativity to economic profit creation. Fourth, it lacks a critical mind of mentality and morality directly related with the dignity and autonomy of human. That is because multi-dimensionality was not profoundly considered in the process of the discussion. Accordingly, the study presents whole-person education of pursuing multi-dimensional and balanced development of humans as a way to solve the problems.
