The present study compared and verified how much the theoretical concepts of WHR and Golden Rain support modern Korean young adults. The ‘Waist-to-Hip Ratio; WHR’, a cue for measuring physical attractiveness from an evolutionary psychological point of view, and the golden ratio, which is the basis for aesthetic judgment on beauty from Ancient Greece, have something in common in the body, but the history that has been studied is different. Since the theory of the ‘Golden Ratio’ was not frequently replicated in empirical studies, we carried out verification of ‘New Golden Ratio’ additionally. The study was conducted on 120 male and female college students in their 20s (60 females, 60 males) in a between-subject experimental design method, and participants depicted the most ideal and attractive targets using a three-dimensional game program. The ratio was measured based on 120 samples made and compared with the most attractive rain theoretically assumed through a single sample T-test. The two-way ANOVA and MANOVA were conducted to confirm the existence of gender differences in the ideal target type. The results of the study showed that the WHR average for the experimental target was much lower than the theoretically attractive reference value for both male and female targets. The “Golden Ratio’ and the ‘New Golden Ratio’ were also not supported by most variables. This study suggests that the attractive body of young adults in modern Korea is very westernized, as is the prior study, while the ideal and attractive face reflects the Asian face and cultural specialty. Second, there were no differences in participants' gender in the body, but there were various interactions in the face. This study is meaningful in that it compared and verified WHR and Golden Ratio together, to make new academic attempts and draw social and cultural implications.
