L. v. Beethoven Piano Sonata in A Major, Op.2 No.2에 대한 분석연구를 통해 베토벤의 작곡기법과 음악적 요소를 파악하여 곡을 이해하는데 목적이 있다.

In this thesis, we understand compositional techniques and musical elements for Beethoven's works based on the analysis of L. v. Beethoven Piano Sonata in A Major, Op.2 No.2 Beethoven is a classical music composer, and his 32 piano sonatas occupy an important place in the keyboard literature. To investigate his Piano Sonata Op.2 No.2, we first understand the influence of other music works such as Mozart and Haydn. In addition, we try to analyze his composition techniques, and his musical change from the classical to romantic musics by categorizing his musics in chronological order. We present the theoretical background of his works by understanding previous study, and important conclusions based on the background as follows. Firstly, we know that he expanded the 3 movements established in pre-classicism to the 4 movements with the expansion and reduction of movements and forms. In addition, as the subject is repeated, the texture becomes thicker and the dynamics was expanded. On the contrary, in the first movement, the composition of the recapitulation is almost similar to that of the exposition, but the enlarged section of the first theme is omitted from the recapitulation, and in the fourth movement, the second theme of the recapitulation is reduced to the second theme of the exposition. The second is the expansion of acoustics. Due to the development of the musical instrument, he used the arpeggio of the triple-note rhythm in the fourth movement to express the tone with a wide range and strong dynamics. Third, it is the specification of melody. Unlike the Baroque era, when complex ornaments were often used, classicism becames simpler and more distinct. As the melody embodies, the theme is well displayed more. In the composition of the subject, it can be seen that Beethoven was influenced by Haydn and Mozart. If we consider the influence of Haydn, various melodies were used with one theme. In addition, if we look into Mozart's influence, the two themes are contrasted in the first movement. Fourth, harmony is diverse and free. The contrast between the parallel motion and the contrary motion, and rich chords through introspect chords are used. In addition, it can be seen that it was expressed in a natural connection with the next subject using chord scale. Fifth, there are various changes in tonality. It can be seen that it was expressed by breaking the framework of the traditional form of Sonata using a tonality that is not related to the subject and by giving a contrast between the major and minor key. Lastly, it features dynamics and pedals. The pedal was used to connect the notes with the leap, and the sudden change of sf was used to show the dynamic effects and to express them vividly.
From these theoretical analysis, we conclude that Beethoven naturally harmonized the personality, originality, and creativity that he intended to express without being confined to the frame of the customs and forms of classicism.
