This dissertation analyzed the validity of the design permission compression stress suggested in the design criteria for each vertical members through experiments was analyzed through experiments with vertical members of unused and reuse system scaffold and system support. The vertical members of 36 unused system scaffolds, 40 unused system scaffolds, 500 reuse system scaffolds, and 580 reuse system supports were analyzed. The experimental results of each unused vertical members and reuse system vertical members were compared with the design allowable compression stress presented in the design codes; the steel structure design standards (KDS 14 30 10), steel bridge design standards (KDS 24 14 30), and road bridge design standards (RBDC 2010). Unused system scaffold vertical members were found to be closest to 101.1%-106.1% of the allowable compressive stress curve by the RBDC 2010 according to slenderness, and the KDC 24 14 30 was the closest to 84.3%-88.4%. In addition, even though it is an unused product, the experimental value was evaluated lower than the design standard in the case of system support vertical members. Both the reuse system scaffold and the reuse system scaffold bar were found to be the highest at 98.5%-108.8% (system scaffold) and 73.9%-96.6% (system scaffold) of the experimental values and design standards Curve by the KDS 24 14 30. Compared to unused vertical members, the deviation of reused vertical members was about 195% and about 337% in the slenderness of the same experimental value, respectively, showing that the deviation was severe. Therefore, it was judged that it would be possible to make a reasonable design to apply the KDS 24 14 30 rather than the current KDS 14 30 10 when designing or reviewing structures in consideration of reuse characteristics at the site. Probability distribution characteristics of unused and reuse system vertical members are presented, and the average strength value in the slenderness is more deviated from the reference strength than the single part in the slenderness. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the random sampling test method currently conducted in the construction site to verify the appropriateness of use through random sampling among the length by clarifying the length of the member selection item.
