An Exploratory Study on the Influence of Internal Factors in Confucianism on Chinese and Korean Corporate Culture원문보기

With the development of the economy and the abundance of materials, the level of human needs continues to rise. In an enterprise, the system cannot completely restrain employees; money is not enough to appease employees. Under the background of economic globalization, the corporate management models are lack of international compatibility. Confucianism is an eastern civilization that has been proven by East Asian countries and it is universal within a certain range. In micro, the rapid development of the market economy has brought many problems with insufficient centripetal force in China and Korea. The cultural conflicts of multinational corporations need to be resolved urgently. To resolve the cultural conflict between China and Korea’s multinational corporations, it is necessary to require common ground while reserving differences. The common ground is Confucianism. Previous research is on the influence of Confucianism on the development of Chinese or Korean enterprises, but less on comparing with both two countries. It is worth studying that explore the ideological system and economic value of Confucian culture and compare the influence of Confucianism on the corporate culture of China and Korea. Also we learn from Korea’s excellent corporate culture and seek a better development path for Chinese companies. After clarifying that the object of the comparative study is the influence of Confucianism on corporate culture between China and Korea, Modeling Comparison Method and Digital Statistical Method were selected as the comparative methods of this study. Based on previous research and Modeling Comparison Method, Confucianism is defined as a cultural system with six dimensions and 16 elements. The six dimensions are Rule by Humanity (2 elements), Rule by Moral (3 elements), Rule by Protocol (3 elements), Rule by Intelligent (3 elements), Rule by Honesty (2 elements) and Rule by Harmony (3 elements). In order to carry out digital statistical research, select the DEMATEL model to conduct expert research and matrix calculations on the survey data, and finally get the most important indicators of ED, AD, CD and PD that can explain the influence of Confucianism on the corporate culture of China and South Korea. Through analysis, it is found that in China, corporate culture is mainly influenced by Confucian humanity culture and moral culture, emphasizing people-oriented, inter-company ethics and the virtue of self-discipline of company employees. However, the Confucian culture of honesty and harmony has a weak influence on enterprises and does not pay enough attention to internal and external loyalty and sustainable ecological development. In Korea, the corporate culture is deeply influenced by the moral culture of Confucianism. And secondly by the culture of honesty and harmony. Through comparison, the conclusion is that: 1. Chinese corporate culture values more individuals in the company while Korean corporate culture values more people in the collective; 2. Both Chinese and South Korean companies value moral culture and social ethics, which not only create social value, but also contribute to society and advocating healthy competition and cooperation; 3. Both Chinese and Korean companies have weakened the influence of Confucian protocol culture on the company, replacing rigid systems and constraints with soft culture. The difference is that Chinese companies still retain self-discipline and spontaneity while Korea has almost completely abandoned the protocol culture because of the pursuit of harmony within the group which makes employees lack spontaneity and self-discipline, relying more on the collective and authority. Confucian culture is the treasure culture of Eastern companies. Chinese companies should develop corporate culture based on the concept of honesty and ecological sustainability. Korean companies should pay attention to the development of human resources for employees avoiding the infringement of collective culture and authoritative culture on individuals so that ensure talent dividends.
