질적연구를 제외한 양적연구의 학위논문과 학술지 논문으로 Littel과 Corcoran 및 Pillai(2008)이 제안한 PICOS(population, intervention, comparison, outcomes, study designs)에 따라 메타분석 선정논문 기준을 정하였다.

This study conducted a meta-analysis on the effectiveness of youth mentoring programs. For this meta-analysis, the following research questions were set up First, What is the overall size of the youth mentoring program? second, What is the effect size according to the composition of the youth mentoring program? Third, What is the effect size according to the operation method (number, scale) of the youth mentoring program? Fourth, What is the effect size according to the characteristics of the youth mentoring program? 1) What is the effect size according to the age of participation (elementary, middle, high school, and college students) in the youth mentoring program? 2) What is the effect size according to the characteristics of youth mentoring program participants (general students, maladaptive youth)?
The procedure performed to achieve the purpose of this study is as follows. As for the selection criteria, a mentoring program for teenagers was selected as a thesis. The criteria for meta-analysis selection papers were established according to PICOS (population, intervention, comparison, outcomes, and study designs) proposed by Little, Corcoran and Pillai (2008) as degree papers and academic journals excluding qualitative research A total of 25 papers and journals were selected according to these criteria, and 32 factors were extracted for individual cases. The analysis and processing of the data were calculated through the Fixed Effect Model and Random Effects Model of Hedges-Olkin (1985) to calculate the effect size, respectively.
The research results obtained through this analysis are as follows. First, The overall effect size of youth mentoring programs seems to have a great influence on teenagers. second, In the size of the effect according to the composition of the youth mentoring program, the mentoring program has a significant influence on youth social factors, career factors, school·academic factors, and individual internal factors. Third, The effect size according to the operation method of the youth mentoring program does not have a significant impact on the participating age of elementary school students compared to other ages due to the medium effect size.. On the other hand, youth mentoring has a great influence on both middle and high school students and college students. In addition, in the case of mentoring programs according to the number of sessions, the effect size of less than 15 times has a great effect, while the mentoring programs of more than 15 times have a smaller effect on the medium size. Fourth, In the mentoring program according to the characteristics of the participants, both general students and maladaptive adolescents have an effect, but it appears to have a greater significant effect on maladaptive adolescents than general students. This study is expected to be used as basic data for developing and designing more efficient and helpful mentoring programs through meta-analysis of the effect size of youth mentoring programs. In addition, it can affect and have a lot of influence on the study of which age group's subjects and characteristics are more suitable for adolescents.. More mentoring programs can be conducted and activated through research results that these mentoring programs have a great influence on individual internal, career, school·academic, and social factors.
