The purpose of this study is to investigate the perception of infant teachers on the use of media based on the technology of the 4th industrial revolution in early childhood education institutions and to investigate the actual status of education using media. Based on the results of this study, the direction in which media based on the 4th industrial revolution technology can be appropriately used in the practice of early childhood and play-oriented education is presented. In addition, we intend to provide basic data for developing teacher education programs related to the use of media based on the 4th industrial revolution technology. The research problems of this study are as follows.
1. What is the perception of Children’s teachers about the use of media b ased on the technology of the 4th industrial revolution? 2. What is the actual state of media use based on the technology of the 4th industrial revolution?
The subjects of this study were kindergarten and daycare center teachers located in Asan-si, Chungcheongnam-do, and this survey visited early childhood education institutions for two weeks from August 16 to August 27, 2021, distributed and collected 254 questionnaires, and finally used 228 questionnaires for the final analysis. In this study, the data collected through the questionnaire survey were analyzed using the SPSS 25.0 statistical program, and the frequency and percentage were conducted to analyze the general background of the study subjects. In order to find out the degree of interest of infants and toddlers in the use of media based on the 4th industrial revolution technology, the sum of the original scores for each question of interest was converted into average scores, and the level of interest was divided into upper, middle, and lower. Cross-analysis and frequency analysis were conducted to analyze the perception and actual condition of media utilization based on the technology of the 4th industrial revolution according to the background variables of infants and toddlers.
The results of this study are as follows.
First, looking at the path of acquiring content related to the use of media based on the 4th industrial revolution technology, media media were the highest at 64%, and early childhood teachers were found to acquire the most content related to media use through media. There was a significant difference in the level of interest of early childhood teachers in the future prospects for the use of media based on the 4th industrial revolution technology. In response to the positive future outlook for the use of media based on the 4th industrial revolution technology, 22.4% of the respondents said "upper", 27.2% of the respondents said "middle", and 14.5% of the respondents said "lower". In response to further aggravating social problems, "lower" 11.4%, "medium" 7.0%, and "upper" 5.3%. As for the necessity of education using media based on the 4th industrial revolution technology, there was a significant difference between the infant age in charge and the level of interest. In other words, at the level of interest, there was a high perception that education using media based on technology in the 4th industrial revolution was necessary in the order of 34.6% of middle, 27.2% of top, and 17.1% of bottom. There was no statistically significant difference in all background variables as to why education using media based on the 4th industrial revolution technology was necessary. However, early childhood teachers recognized that education using media based on the 4th industrial revolution technology was necessary to cultivate talent tailored to the future talent image. There was no statistically significant difference in all background variables of early childhood teachers in terms of ways to revitalize education using media based on the 4th industrial revolution technology. Early childhood teachers recognized the development and distribution of programs as the top priority as a way to revitalize education using media based on the 4th industrial revolution technology. There was no statistically significant difference in all background variables in the area of education in which education using media based on the 4th industrial revolution technology affects infant education. Early childhood teachers recognized that education using media based on the 4th industrial revolution technology influenced infants' integrated educational experiences, creativity and flexibility, social relationship formation, and communication skills in order. As for the factors influencing the need for education using media based on the 4th industrial revolution technology, there was a difference in perception of the factors influencing the need to use media based on the 4th industrial revolution technology in the background variable according to the age of infants in charge. In other words, teachers in charge of infants recognized the media as a factor influencing the need for education using media based on the technology of the 4th industrial revolution. There was no statistically significant difference in all background variables as to the reason why infant education using media based on the 4th industrial revolution technology was not necessary. It was found that early childhood teachers perceived that it was inappropriate to implement education using media based on the 4th industrial revolution technology in infancy. There was a statistically significant difference in the level of education and interest of early childhood teachers in the appropriate period of education using media based on the technology of the 4th industrial revolution. In other words, at the level of interest, I think it is more appropriate for the "middle" group to start education using media from the lower grades of elementary school than the "lower" group. There was a statistically significant difference in the effect of education using media based on the 4th industrial revolution technology on infant education at the level of interest of infant teachers. In other words, at the level of interest, it was found that education using media based on the 4th industrial revolution technology in the order of 'upper' and 'middle' and 'lower' groups perceived it as 'very influential' on infant education.
