This study aims to improve thermal conductivity of composite materials made by dispersing and mixing thermally conductive fillers in polymer resins, and the purpose of this study is to improve thermal conductivity using carbon nanotubes and graphite among various carbon fillers. Recently, the quality and function of products have improved across industries such as electricity, electronics, communication, wearable devices, and electric vehicles, not only determines the life and function of products but also have a profound impact on product value and competitiveness. A carbon composite material is manufactured using various polymer resins, and thus has excellent processability and is lightweight, and as a material that replaces metal materials currently used, it may be applied to various heat dissipation fields. An object of this study is to manufacture a heat dissipation material with improved performance by improving thermal conductivity of the previously developed carbon composite material. In the case of the existing material, the carbon composite material is produced to the extent of dispersing and mixing a carbon filler in a polymer, and has a thermal conductivity of 10W/mK (horizontal) or when the surface of graphite is reformed to coat carbon nano tubes. Existing carbon composite materials can be applied to LED street light radiation plates with less than 25W power consumption, and if carbon composite materials with improved thermal conductivity are applied, they can also be applied as LED light transmission plates, communication relay heat radiation, and industrial inverter heat radiation.
