The purpose of this study was to explore the meaning of learning experience for small and medium-sized business CEOs who participated in the humanities learning program from a narrative perspective. This research applied narrative inquiry method of Clandinin and Connelly (2000) and made the experiences of the research participants into stories. From May 2016 to May 2017, data were collected through various methods including interviewing three research participants with more than 10 years of corporate management experience who participated in the humanities learning program. The collected data went through a narrative analysis process according to the research method of Bedford and Landry (2010). The data were analyzed in the three-dimensional space of the narrative by composing the experiences of the research participants into stories. During the research, additional data including research journal and notes wrote at field were included. To fully understand the participants' experience, paper and books published by the participants were referenced. Interview was conducted through semi-structured method. At the beginning of the interview, broad and general questions were given so that interviewees can feel comfortable and not limited. The research results were as follows; research participants transformed from technical experts who value performance to reflective practitioners. The research participants changed from those who emphasized more on the short-term performances to ones who prepare for the future by taking account what the next generation will face. The stories of each research participant were divided into four categories in the order of time lapse, including the stories of their lives so far, the stories of their lives before the study of the humanities, the stories of the humanities learning process, and the stories after the study of the humanities. Second, the meaning of the learning experience of humanities is a learning process of 'Knowing more' through extensive reading, 'Finding Alternatives' through the search for knowledge in new specialized fields, and 'Exploring Essence' through the Learning Process for Humanities Learners through the course. Third, through the humanities learning experience, the study participants showed changes in their outlook on life, management, and through the expansion of social responsibility. Fourth, the results of change through humanities learning experiences in the lives of the study participants are 'respect for others', 'service for others', 'expression of honesty', 'expression of justice', and 'community building', which are similar results of ethical leadership development course. The conclusion of this study is as follows. First, it is necessary to actively consider and spread the humanities learning program for SME CEOs as part of the SME's management strategy and performance improvement strategy for the change in organizational culture. Second, it is necessary to actively review the use of humanities learning programs as a strategy to cope with new business environments such as ethical management and ESG. Third, the 'humanities must-read book lists' for CEOs should be introduced to provide and expand a self-directed humanities learning experience.
