In recent years, in order to improve energy efficiency of buildings, passive and active parts have been emphasized at the same time. In particular, as the importance of passive elements is emphasized, many problems arise in relation to indoor air quality due to the high airtightness of buildings. There are many difficulties in handling VOCs, CO, and fine dust generated inside the building, and the main equipment used to improve this and improve indoor air quality is a Total Heat Recovery Heat Exchanger. A a Total Heat Recovery Heat Exchanger is a device that discharges indoor contaminated air to the outside, supplies outdoor fresh air, and exchanges heat with air supplied to the inside to recover some of the heat energy wasted due to ventilation. The Total Heat Recovery Heat Exchanger itself is indicated in detail of product characteristics and specifications of each manufacturer, but the duct system of the Total Heat Recovery Heat Exchanger actually constructed is installed in various forms according to field circumstances. Since there is no data on the friction loss of flexible ducts in domestic and foreign handbooks and any literature on the coefficient of intuitive friction loss and the coefficient of curved pipe friction, this study conducted a direct experiment and used the coefficient. By analyzing the drawings mainly constructed in the field, a model of the duct system of the Total Heat Recovery Heat Exchanger was manufactured and installed, and the air volume was predicted by measuring the air volume and pressure of each supply port through experiments, and applying the theoretical formula under the same conditions as the experimental device. Experiments to calculate the coefficient of friction loss of the flexible duct showed that the coefficient of friction of the flexible duct was 0.1141, the coefficient of friction of the flexible duct was 0.2658, the coefficient of friction of the flexible duct was 0.44, and the coefficient of the flexible duct was 1.45. The experiment was conducted to compare the pressure loss of the diffuser used in the Total Heat Recovery Heat Exchanger duct system with the pressure loss of the circular diffuser and the square circular diffuser, and the exhaust side did not significantly differ from the circular diffuser. As a result of measuring the pressure loss of the hood cap installed mainly on the outer wall of the building in the Total Heat Recovery Heat Exchanger duct system, the pressure loss of the hood cap was not significantly different from the pressure loss of the hood cap. As a result of measuring the air volume by manufacturing and installing the Total Heat Recovery Heat Exchanger duct system in the laboratory, similar air volume was measured for outlets No. 1 and No. 2, but the air volume was relatively increased at No. 3 (terminal air supply port). The air volume was predicted using the EES program to predict the air volume by applying the theoretical formula, and the result was that the air supply was slightly smaller than those of No. 1 and No. 3 (terminal air supply) and somewhat more than that of No. 1 and No. 2. As a result of comparing the wind power of the Total Heat Recovery Heat Exchanger with the wind power predicted by applying a simple theoretical formula, the measurement error was 4.7% for the 1st air supply, -6.2% for the 2nd air supply, and 4.1% for the 3rd air supply.
