As COVID-19 continues for a long time, the metaverse that connects reality and virtuality has begun to attract attention as a next-generation platform. To study the effects of metaverse virtual tourist destination experience on user's destination visit intention and eWOM, this study examine the effects of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and perceived enjoyment on flow experience, flow experience on destination visit intention and eWOM, destination visit intention on eWOM by using the technology acceptance model and flow theory. In addition, it is intended to analyze whether the avatar similarity of users of metaverse virtual tourist destinations has a moderating effect between all of the paths. For this purpose, an online survey was conducted on foreigners who had visited the virtual Hangang Park in the ZEPETO application, and 302 copies were used for analysis. As a result of the analysis, first, in addition to the perceived ease of use of the metaverse virtual tourist destinations, perceived usefulness and perceived enjoyment had a positive effect on the flow experience. Second, flow experience had a positive effect on destination visit intention and eWOM. Third, the intention to visit the metaverse virtual tourist destinations had a positive effect on eWOM. Fourth, it was found that there was a significant difference between user groups according to the level of avatar similarity. This study will contribute to leaving academic implications by expanding the scope of research on metaverse in the field of virtual tourism research by conducting in-depth research on metaverse tourism content, which is expected to be an important resource in the tourism industry. In addition, this study is thought to be helpful for a new marketing strategy for the tourism industry by analyzing the moderating effect of avatar similarity among perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived enjoyment, flow experience, destination visit intention, and eWOM.
