Due to the occurrence of COVID-19 patients, performance officials and consumers canceled the performance due to the closure of the concert hall, the confirmation of the performance cast or staff, and the self-isolation of the audience. When the performance itself is canceled, the full amount of the reservation is refunded, but regulations and guidelines for cancellation of the performance due to consumer self-isolation were not listed on the online reservation site. Therefore, this study suggested a payment method in which a part of the total price is paid first and the difference is paid on the day of the performance, and compared with the full pre-payment method (current) to confirm the pre-payment method of consumers when booking classical music performances. After that, the consumer group was subdivided using decision tree analysis by comparing before and after application of cancellation fees, comparing differences according to the reservation date and viewing date interval, and comparing differences according to seat grade. The survey was conducted on a total of 323 men and women in their 30s in the Seoul metropolitan area (161 VVIP seats and 162 B seats) and used for analysis data. After that, when the ticket reservation date was one month before the performance date, the decision tree model (CRT algorithm, maximum tree depth 3, upper node 10, and lower node 10) was analyzed as to why 185 respondents preferred the current method. Both before and after applying the cancellation fee, respondents preferred the full pre-payment method (current). However, when the cancellation fee was presented, the preference ratio of the ticket reservation method, in which some amounts were paid first and the difference was paid on the day of the performance, increased. The time difference between the ticket reservation date and the performance viewing date was preferred by both the VVIP seat group and the B seat group in the current scenario 1. In addition, it was confirmed that the closer the ticket reservation date and the performance viewing date, the more the pre-payment preference rate increased. Comparing the differences according to seat ratings, it was found that the proportion difference of respondents before applying the cancellation fee was not significant, but after the cancellation fee was presented, the proportion of people in seat group B preferred the split payment method. In addition, the ticket reservation date preferred the full pre-payment method both a month before the performance date and two days before the performance date, and the preference rate became stronger if the reservation was made two days ago, and no difference was confirmed depending on the seat grade. As a result of the Decision Tree Model (CRT) analysis, the group that preferred the full pre-payment method a month ago was subdivided into a total of 12 groups. The results of this study are of academic significance in that it is the first study comparing consumer preference reservation methods in the genre of classical music performance. In addition, the result of subdividing the consumer group in this study is believed to provide basic information to officials who need to secure audiences for classical music performances.
