The purpose of this study is to provide practical data on how couples struggling with chronic marital problems due to Disconnection and Rejection schemas deal with the hard pain and basic data related to effective counseling intervention strategies to improve marital satisfaction through finding out the mediation pathway between Experience Avoidance and Partner Acceptance(felt acceptance, partner acceptance), which are variable related to acceptance of the ACT-based couple therapy model and IBCT in the relationship between Disconnection and Rejection schemas and marital satisfaction. 289 married men and women (aged 20-65) residing across the country participated in questionnaire survey. As for the measurement tools, a shortened form of the Marital Relations Adaptation Scale (DAS), the Disconnection and Rejection schemas’s part of the simplified schematic questionnaire (YSQ-SF), Acceptance Behavior Questionnaire II (AAQ-II) and Relationship Acceptance Questionnaire (RAQ) were used for this study. Statistical analysis was performed using AMOS 22.0 with SPSS 22.0 to verify the mediation effect. A total of 10 research models were verified by setting the five psychological schemas belonging to the Disconnection and Rejection schema as independent variable, and dividing Partner Acceptance into two parameters, felt acceptance and partner acceptance, which are sub-factors of partner acceptance. For verification of each research model, bootstrapping was performed for confirmatory factor analysis, structural equation model verification, and mediation effect verification. The results of this study are as follows. First, all variables met the assumption of normal distribution, and as a result of correlation analysis between variables, all correlation coefficients were significant at the p<.001 level. Second, as a result of verifying 10 research models, it was confirmed that the fit of the measurement models was appropriate, and the model fit indices of the structural models were all good. As a result of the verification of the mediation effect, it was found that the sequential mediation effect of Experience Avoidance and Partner Acceptance (felt acceptance, partner acceptance) was significant between each Disconnection and Rejection scheme and marital satisfaction in the nine research models. Among them, the sequential mediation effect of Experience Avoidance and Partner Acceptance and the mediation effect of Partner Acceptance were found to be effective in three research models. In the remaining one study model, only the mediation effect of Partner Acceptance was significant and the sequential mediation effect was not significant. The reason why the mediation effect of each Disconnection and Rejection scheme was different was whether the belief and pain related to the scheme were related to Partner Acceptance, which was an interactive acceptance. In conclusion, the significant sequential mediation effect of Experience Avoidance and Partner Acceptance in the nine research models suggests that the importance of psychological acceptance within the individual should be considered in which each Disconnection and Rejection scheme affects marital satisfaction. In other words, the above result make it known that psychological acceptance work for each individual of the couple is necessary during Partner Acceptance work.
