The researcher was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer during graduate school. And for post-surgery treatment, I experienced food therapy directly. Based on various clinical experiences and modern medical theories gained during the process, I planned to write a doctoral dissertation. Furthermore, I researched with the hope that this doctoral dissertation would be helpful to many people in terms of preventive medicine.
The purpose of this study is to develop food therapy programs and educational contents mediated by the five senses and NLP and apply them to the field of healing ministry. Therefore, it is intended to be used as a tool for promoting and improving public health and for holistic healing.
In order to verify the dual mediating role of the five senses and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) in the relationship between food therapy factors and the effects of food therapy, this study aimed at food therapy users as overall group with food therapy effects, high group with food therapy effect, and low group with food therapy effect.
The empirical analysis was performed by dividing each group into three groups. In this study, a comparative analysis was performed by dividing into three groups according to the effects of food therapy to determine how the mediating roles of the five senses and NLP affect the group with high and low food therapy effects among users participating in food therapy. It is intended to be systematically verified.
The research results of this study are as follows. First, in the case of overall group with food therapy effect, the higher the food therapy factor of the users participating in food therapy, the better the food therapy effect, and the five senses and NLP played a mediating role in the relationship between food therapy factors and food therapy effects.
Second, in the case of high group with food therapy effect, the food therapy factor directly affected the food therapy effect, and in the relationship between the food therapy factor and the food therapy effect, the five senses and NLP acted as a partial mediating effect. Particularly among the five senses, hearing and taste improved and promoted the effect of food therapy compared to other factors. It means that compared to other factors, it reduced stress, reduced detoxification, and acted effectively on diet.
Third, in the case of low group with food therapy effect, the food therapy factor did not directly affect the food therapy effect, and the five senses and NLP acted as a fully mediating effect in the relationship between the food therapy factor and the food therapy effect. Although psychological therapy and physical therapy did not directly affect the effect of food therapy, when the user's five senses and NLP program were applied to food therapy, the effect of food therapy was enhanced and improved. In the relationship between food therapy factors and food therapy effects, it means that the five senses and NLP acted as a partially mediated effect in high group with food therapy effect, whereas the five senses and NLP acted as a fully mediated effect in low group with food therapy effect.
The implications of this study are as follows. In terms of policy implications, research on food therapy is a meaningful study in a situation where interest in health is increasing due to an aging population and increasing life expectancy, and many countries around the world are studying natural healing methods using food therapy.
It is considered to be a timely study in a situation where interdisciplinary and convergence research is actively progressing not only in healing missionary studies, but also in medicine, health sciences, biology, genetics, biotechnology, and anti-aging chemistry. Also, looking at practical implications, the correlation between food therapy factors and food therapy effects was empirically analyzed, and at the same time, scales and measurement tools were developed for four constructs: food therapy factors, five senses, NLP, and food therapy effects. This is a meaningful study in that sense, and it is suggested that when the user's five senses and NLP are reflected in the program during the food therapy program, it reduces the stress of food therapy users, reduces detoxification, and has an effective effect on diet. This is a meaningful study in that sense.
This study analyzed the mediating effects of the five senses and NLP on the relationship between food therapy factors and food therapy effects from the perspective of holistic healing targeting food therapy users. The limitations of the study are suggested in the methods and procedures of statistical analysis, and this point should be reflected and supplemented in future studies.
