Recently, eco-friendly management activities, social responsibility activities, and transparent governance structures are attracting attention as representative indicators of corporate sustainability management beyond the importance of corporate social responsibility and role. Therefore, this study aims to examine the effect of these ESG activities on non-financial performance through corporate trust and corporate reputation. To this end, the hypothesis, which is the relationship between variables, was verified by deriving variables and research models through literature review on the theoretical background. As a result of the research analysis, it was found that eco-friendly management activities and transparent governance structures among ESG activities had a positive effect on corporate reputation, and social responsibility activities and transparent governance structures had a positive effect on corporate trust. It was found that corporate reputation had a positive effect on corporate trust, and both corporate reputation and corporate trust had a positive effect on non-financial performance. As a result of the mediating analysis, the corporate reputation between eco-friendly management activities, transparent governance and non-financial performance was confirmed as a partial mediating effect, and the mediating effect of corporate trust between transparent governance and non-financial performance was also proved as a partial mediating effect. In addition, it was confirmed that in the path of eco-friendly management activities to non-financial performance, corporate trust has significance only through double mediation through corporate reputation, but corporate reputation can prove the significance of the single path. Social responsibility activities did not have a direct effect on non-financial performance, but they were significant only when corporate reputation and corporate trust were double-mediated. The effect of transparent governance on non-financial performance was significant, and significant results could be confirmed by mediating corporate reputation and corporate trust, respectively. This study used three representative variables of ESG activities to present an integrated perspective away from the existing fragmentary perspective, and is the first empirical study to reveal the mediating effect of corporate trust and corporate reputation between ESG activities and management performance. Through this, the relationship between very diverse variables was comprehensively analyzed, and measures to derive non-financial performance linked to integrated corporate reputation and corporate trust were studied, verified, and identified. In addition, each sub-factor of ESG activities, which has been somewhat overlooked in previous studies, was subdivided to study the effectiveness of maximizing financial and non-financial performance ultimately pursued for ESG management. In particular, for the success of ESG management, ESG activities were categorized into eco-friendly management activities, social responsibility activities, and transparent governance structures, and the causal relationship was analyzed and applied directly to practice. It is believed that it can be used as basic data for policy establishment related to future ESG management activation policies by deriving causal relationships between activity variables, corporate reputation, corporate trust, and non-financial performance in ESG activities.
