Plastic is a common object and material that can be seen in our daily life. "Plastic" has been widely used in a wide range of industries so far for its various convenience. Plastic has been developed, and over the past 65 years, the world's cumulative production has produced 8,223,050,000 tons, of which 55% (about 4.6 billion tons) of plastic is buried or discarded, 8% (about 700 million tons) is incinerated, and only 500 million tons (6%) is recycled. Most plastics, which are buried and disposed of, have an impact on humans as well as environmental pollution and ecosystem destruction. Due to various problems caused by discarded plastic, each country is strengthening regulations on plastic production and consumption. In addition, it is focusing on developing materials that can replace plastic, as well as materials that recycle discarded plastic. However, in previous studies, studies on materials recycled from waste plastic are insufficient. In this study, the factors affecting the product dimensions according to the injection molding conditions and the correlation between factors when applied to the injection site for recycled materials (PCR ABS) newly made from recycled resources recovered from discarded ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) plastic products, the optimal injection molding conditions are derived and presented. In addition, through reproduction experiments and research hypothesis testing, we intend to present a difference in size and process capability of PCR ABS compared to general ABS under optimal injection molding conditions. And, in order to confirm the hypothesis of this study, the research hypothesis was tested by dividing into step 1 selection of key factors, step 2 optimization of conditions, step 3 reproduction experiment for optimal conditions, step 4 research hypothesis test & presentation of results, and research results was derived. The results of this study confirmed the factors affecting the dimensions when injection molding small products by applying PCR ABS materials through the design and experiment of the experimental planning method. As a result of analyzing the interrelationship between these factors, it was confirmed that there was a positive (+) effect. In addition, the optimal injection molding conditions of PCR ABS could be confirmed using the Minitab response optimization tool. The re-realization test was performed on the derived optimal conditions, and it was verified that the target value of the full length and full width dimension was satisfied, and the process capability was very stable. Finally, the test results of the research hypothesis showed that there was no difference in the average length and width dimensions of general ABS and PCR ABS. As a result, it was confirmed through this study that even if PCR ABS is used instead of general ABS, there is no problem with dimensions and process capability.
