Due to changes in living patterns and perceptions, the number of single-person young households increased by 785,241 in 2021 compared to 2017, accounting for 36.1% of all ages as of 2023. Under these circumstances, single-person young households that start independence do not meet the minimum housing standard or suffer from housing costs, and recently, the proportion of single-person young households living in unqualified residences has been increasing due to lease(deposit) fraud. To ensure the minimum residential rights of single-person young households, affordable and comfortable housing provided by the public sector is necessary. The government and local authorities are implementing various policies and systems to address this issue. When it comes to supplied public housing, community facilities should be planned in accordance with the size of the household, following the Housing Act and the Public Housing Business Processing Guidelines. The changing times have led to a transformation in the perception of community facilities and an increase in their importance. Local authorities and corporations have proposed guidelines for community facilities and introduced new concepts. While research on "youth housing" and "community facility planning for public housing" has been ongoing, there is a significant lack of research on "youth housing community facilities". Therefore, this study analyzed the community facilities provided in youth housing for single-person young households and conducted a survey on the hobbies and community facilities specifically for single-person young households. To analyze community facilities for youth housing, both domestic and foreign cases were examined. Domestic examples included public housing provided by local governments and the government, such as Youth Safe Housing, Hope Housing, and Happy Dormitory, as well as private co-living House like Mangrove and Episodes. Overseas cases analyzed private companies-operated spaces like The Collective-Old Oak and Scape. Since then, an online survey was conducted on 101 single-person young households, from which the results were obtained, including the main hobbies of single-person young households, the types of community facilities needed, and how they utilize community facilities. Based on the findings, this study proposes directions for improving community facilities in public housing for single-person young households in terms of architecture, management, and operation. It is expected that this study will serve as fundamental data for future planning of community facilities in public housing for single-person young households.
