This study aims to understand the field of dance education by exploring the class experiences and meanings of dance teachers who teach students with borderline intellectual functioning through narrative inquiry, a method of qualitative research, and to develop a dynamic and comprehensive approach that includes the values and beliefs of dance teachers. The purpose is to strive for academic understanding and an exploratory approach in context. To this end, a study was conducted to understand the implementation process of the class experience of dance teachers working at an art school specializing in borderline intellectual function students and to understand the meaning of the experience. The research questions to conduct this study are as follows. First, what do dance teachers in charge of students with borderline intellectual function think are the characteristics of students taking the class? Second, what do dance teachers in charge of students with borderline intellectual function think they are teaching through their classes? Third, why does the dance teacher think that students with borderline intellectual function need dance classes? Fourth, how does the dance teacher think dance classes for students with borderline intellectual function run? Fifth, what role do you think the dance teacher in charge of students with borderline intellectual function plays in the class? The participants in this study are five dance teachers working at School L and School H, which target students with borderline intellectual functions. Research participants who agreed to the purpose of the study were selected through purposeful sampling. The collection of data was done through in-depth interviews, and the process of repeatedly reading and reanalyzing data such as literature and field notes to check for any missing or missing parts by looking back at the categories created through continuous and circular analysis and interpretation of data. The results derived through this process are as follows. First, the cognitive characteristics, emotional characteristics, behavioral characteristics, and social characteristics of a student with borderline intellectual function mean the educational needs of the student, and at the same time, they can be a barometer to measure the content of teaching from the teacher's perspective. Moreover, the teachers involved may have different positions regarding their understanding of the characteristics of borderline intellectual function students, and this may in fact affect individual teachers' dance classes. Second, students with borderline intellectual function have lower work function capacity and slower processing speed than normal students, which reduces their cognitive processing efficiency of information. Therefore, they have difficulty understanding and remembering the teacher's teachings. They also show aggression and impulsivity and have a significant need for dependence in stressful situations. Furthermore, parents' parenting attitudes are immersed in negative emotions, or students entering puberty are showing difficulties in controlling emotions and unpredictable behavioral changes to teachers in charge of dance classes. Third, regarding the goals of dance classes for students with borderline intellectual functions, according to the teacher's experience, they are confident that even students with borderline intellectual functions have the potential to change, so they aim to raise students' self-esteem and increase their participation. They recognize that the goal should be to increase social skills. The good news is that they recognize through experience that teachers' support and supporting factors for borderline intellectual functioning students are more relevant to those students. Fourth, it is recognized that the above dance classes are necessary for the socialization of students with borderline intellectual functions and for education to restore self-esteem, as well as the need for dance classes to restore or increase resilience and self-esteem. Fifth, what role the dance teacher about charge of borderline intellectually functional students perceives to play in the class is recognized as having a variety of roles. Based on that recognition, they recognize that their role is to engage and communicate with students in class, play with students, sometimes wait until students can properly express themselves, and wait for changes. It is recognized that the competencies required in the process of performing the above roles begin with thinking that the role of a dance teacher is right for oneself, meeting the eye level of the student, and waiting for the students' development. Above all, in a realistic way, they recognize that counseling with students in addition to dance classes is their main role. Considering what was presented above, through narrative inquiry, we gain an in-depth understanding of the class experience of a dance teacher teaching students with borderline intellectual function, and within this experience, the dance teacher continuously develops from the class experience and makes continuous efforts to provide better dance education. According to previous contents, in presenting a framework as the meaning and experience of the class experience of a dance teacher teaching students with borderline intellectual functions, it is noteworthy that it presents a new milestone in dance education for new teachers who wish to provide dance education to students with borderline intellectual functions in the future. It has value and is of great significance in recognizing the educational value for developing dance education programs for students with advanced borderline intelligence by reflecting the creative tendencies of dance teachers.
