Thus, this study objected to exploring shade tolerance soybean variety. In this study, we analyzed photosynthesis-related characteristics(chlorophyll fluorescence and content), morphological characteristics, and yield components of Daewon, Haepum, and Cheongja 5ho in the shading environment. To analyze the effect of shading environment on photosynthesis of soybeans, chlorophyll fluorescence, content, and spectral transmittance were measured. As a result, the electron transport activity of PSⅡ(Φpo, PIAbs, ET2o/RC) in the shading enviroment increased, while activity of PSⅠ(δRE1o, PITotal, RE1o/RC) decreased, resulting in a decrease in net photosynthesis. In addition, the chlorophyll content and the spectral index(NDVI, PRI) related to chlorophyll content which is expected to increase light capture activity in the shading environment were increased. As a result of analyzing the effect of the shading on the morphological characteristics and yield components of soybean, the stem length, pod per plant, yield per plant in the shading enviroment decreased, while the stem diameter, number of branches, node, biomass of stem and leaf, 100 seed weight increased. Also, as a result of comparing the effect of the shading on the morphological characteristics and yield components of soybean, ‘Cheongja 5ho’showed high change rate(%), ‘Haepum’ showed low change rate(%). These results suggested that the variety ‘Haepum’maybe have high shade tolerance and suitable for shading envirionment.
