PET/CT 검사의 장점은? | 1990년대 말부터 개발되어 2000년대 초에 상용화에 성공한 PET/CT는 현재 각각의 영상장치를 병렬로 배열하고 많은 방사선량을 사용하는 CT를 먼저 촬영한 후 이어서 PET를 촬영하는 방법을 사용하고 있다. 따라서 환자는 동일한 위치에서 이동하지 않고 편리하게 두 영상 검사를 받을 수 있으며, PET와CT가 융합된 영상을 얻을 수 있다. 또한 이전에는 PET 영상에서 감마선의 감쇠 정도가 체내 위치에 따라 다르고 컴프턴 산란(Compton scattering)이 배경잡음을 유발하는 문제를 해결하기 위한 투과영상(transmission scan)을 외부 감마선원을 이용하여 얻었던 것에 비하여 이를 CT 영상으로 대체함으로써 전체 영상획득에 걸리는 시간을 크게 줄일 수 있게 되었다. 이러한 장점들 때문에 PET/CT는 단독 PET을 빠르게 대체하고 있다. |
