여대생의 진로결정을 방해하는 자기 결정능력 문제에 대한 이해와 다양한 조력 방안의 개발이 더욱 필요하다고 본 이유는? 이는 여대생이 진로에 관한 자기결정을 하는데 어려움이 있음을 보여주고 있으며,그로인해 여대생의 진로미결정 상태가 남학생에 비해 상대적으로 오래 지속될 것이라 짐작할 수 있다. 진로와 취업에 관한 결정이 늦어지면 진로개발을 위한 준비나 취업을 위한 구체적인 준비 역시 늦어지게 되므로 취업에 부정적 영향을 미칠 수밖에 없고, 이것이 여대생의 낮은 취업률에 또 다른 약점으로 작용할 수 있다. 따라서 여대생의 진로결정을 방해하는 자기 결정능력 문제에 대한 이해와 다양한 조력 방안의 개발이 더욱 필요하다.
여대상의 경우, 취업에 있어서 다양한 어려움에 부딪치는 것으로 나타난 이유는? 또한 전통적인 가부장적 사고와 성별 분업에 대한 고정관념은 많은 여성인력들이 취업과 승진, 보수 등에서 공정하지 못한 대우를 받게 하기도 한다(Oh, 2006). 실제로 취업과 관련한 선행연구들에 따르면, 여대생의 경우 ‘여자’라는 사회적 편견 때문에 취업에 있어서 다양한 어려움에 부딪치는 것으로 나타났다 (Lee & Yu, 2009).
