본 연구는 간호대학생의 MBTI 성격유형을 확인하고 그에 따른 공감능력과 의사소통능력을 파악하기 위해 실시되었다. 본 연구의 자료 수집은 2015년 10월 5일에서 10월 30일까지 수행되었고, 자가보고식 설문지를 통해 수집된 127명의 자료를 SPSS WIN 18.0을 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과, 대상자는 14가지 MBTI 성격유형으로 나타났다. MBTI의 4가지 심리기능유형에 따른 공감능력은 SF형이 평균 3.77점으로 가장 높았고, 의사소통능력은 NF형이 평균 3.81점으로 가장 높았으며, 공감능력은 유의한 차이가 없었으나 의사소통능력(F=3.194, p=.026)은 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. MBTI의 4가지 심리기질유형에 따른 공감능력은 SP형과 NF형이 평균 3.71점으로 가장 높았고, 의사소통능력은 NF형이 평균 3.81점으로 가장 높았으며, 공감능력은 유의한 차이가 없었으나 의사소통능력(F=3.004, p=.033)은 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. 그러므로, 간호대학생 대규모 표본을 대상으로 MBTI 성격유형에 따른 공감능력과 의사소통능력의 차이를 일반화할 수 있는 반복 연구를 수행하고, MBTI 성격유형 특성에 따른 효율적인 간호학과 교육과정을 구축할 필요가 있다.

This study examined the empathic ability and communication ability of nursing students according to Myers-Briggs type indicator(MBTI) personality type. This study was a cross sectional survey and the data was collected from 127 nursing students by means of self-reported questionnaires from October 5 to 30, 2015. The data collected was analyzed on SPSS win 18.0. Fourteen personality types were observed in this study participants. The SF type was the highest with a mean of 3.77 in empathic ability according to 4 functions of MBTI and the NF type was the highest with a mean of 3.81 in communication ability according to 4 functions of MBTI. The SP type and NF type was the highest with a mean of 3.71 in the empathic ability according to the 4 temperaments of MBTI and the NF type was the highest with a mean of 3.81 in the communication ability according to 4 temperaments of MBTI. Significant differences in the communication ability were observed according to 4 functions (F=3.194, p=.026) and 4 temperaments (F=3.004, p=.033) of MBTI. Further study will be needed to identify the effects of a self-understanding program on the empathic ability and communication ability. It is important to understand the nursing students' diversity and reflect it in a school curriculum.

제안 방법

대상 데이터

05로 하였을 때 76명이었다. 본 연구에서는 총 140명의 자료가 수집되었으나 응답이 불완전하거나 누락된 13부를 제외하고 127명의 자료를 분석에 이용하였다.
본 연구의 대상자는 청주시 소재 1개 대학 간호학과 재학생을 대상으로 편의 추출하였다. 표본 수는 G-power 3.

데이터처리

대상자의 일반적 특성과 MBTI 성격유형은 빈도와 백분율로, 공감능력과 의사소통능력은 평균과 표준편차로 분석하였다. 대상자의 일반적 특성과 MBTI 성격유형(심리기능유형, 심리기질유형)에 따른 공감능력과 의사소통능력은 독립표본 t-test와 ANOVA, Scheffe' test로 사후 검정하였다.

이론/모형

본 연구에서는 Briggs와 Myers가 개발한 성격유형검사(MBTI)를 Kim과 Shim[15]이 한국어판으로 표준화한 자기기입식 총 94문항의 Form G를 사용하여 측정하였다. MBTI는 두 가지씩 양극을 이루는 네 쌍의 지표가 있고 이를 조합한 16가지의 MBTI 성격유형이 네 개의 문자로 표시된다.
본 연구에서는 Davis[17]가 개발한 대인관계 반응지수(Interpersonal Reaction Index [IRI])를 Jeon[18]이 재구성한 도구를 사용하였다. 인지 공감 15문항, 정서 공감 15문항의 총 30문항으로 구성되어 있고, ‘전혀 그렇지 않다’ 1점에서 ‘매우 그렇다’를 5점으로 한 5점 Likert로 측정하였으며, 점수가 높을수록 공감능력이 높음을 의미한다.
본 연구에서는 Rubin 등[19]이 제시한 8가지 의사소통능력(Interpersonal Communication Competence [ICC])에 Hur[20]가 7가지 개념을 추가하여 수정 보완한 글로벌 인간관계 의사소통 능력(Global Interpersonal Communication Competence [GICC]) 도구 15문항으로 측정하였다. 본 도구는 자기노출, 역지사지, 사회적 긴장 완화, 주장력, 집중력, 상호작용 관리, 표현력, 지지력, 즉시성, 효율성, 사회적 적절성, 조리성, 목표간파력, 반응력, 잡음통제력이라는 15가지 하부개념을 가지고, 각 문항은 ‘전혀 그렇지 않다’ 1점에서 ‘매우 그렇다’ 5점의 5점 Likert 척도로 측정되며 점수가 높을수록 의사소통능력이 높음을 의미한다.

성능/효과

대상자의 MBTI 유형에 따른 공감능력, 의사소통능력은 Table 4와 같다. MBTI의 4가지 심리기능유형에 따른 공감능력은 SF형이 평균 3.77점으로 가장 높았고, NT형이 평균 3.60점으로 가장 낮았으며, 의사소통능력은 NF형이 평균 3.81점으로 가장 높았고, ST형이 평균 3.54점으로 가장 낮은 것으로 나타났다. MBTI의 4가지 심리기능유형에 따른 공감능력은 유의한 차이가 없었으나 의사소통능력(F=3.

후속연구

둘째, 지역별 간호대학생 대규모 표본을 대상으로 MBTI 성격유형을 파악하여 그 특성에 따른 효율적인 간호학과 교육과정을 구축할 필요가 있다.
