본 연구의 목적은 가족갈등과 사회적 지지 및 자아존중감이 노인의 생활만족도에 미치는 영향을 검증하는데 있다. 이를 위해 한국복지패널 2014년 제9차 자료를 활용하였으며, 생활만족도에 관련된 변인들의 특성과 상관관계 및 위계적 회귀분석 등을 검증하기 위해, SPSS WIN 20.0프로그램을 사용했다. 조사대상자는 65세 이상 85세 미만 노인 중 사회적 지지 문항에 응답한 296명을 추출하였고, 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 가족갈등이 노인의 생활만족도에 부(-)적인 영향을 미치는데 반해, 사회적 지지는 생활 만족도에 정(+)적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 자아존중감은 노인 생활 만족도에 정(+)적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 독립변수 중 자아존중감이 생활만족도에 가장 높은 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 이러한 결과를 통해 가족갈등을 완화하고, 사회적 지지와 자아존중감을 제고할 수 있는 프로그램 개발과 정책지원의 필요성이 제시되었다.
