농작업자 위해성 평가를 위해 한국에서는 Ko-POEM을 이용하여 노출량을 산출한 후 1, 2단계 평가를 하고 야외시험성적으로 3단계 위해성 평가를 실시하는데 노출량 산출 시 고려하는 피부흡수율 default는 가장 낮은 수치인 10%를 적용하고 있다. 유효성분의 물리적 특성과 함량을 조사하여 EU 지침에 따라 피부흡수율 default를 분류하였다. 다양한 피부흡수율 default를 적용한 Ko-POEM을 이용하여 농작업자위해성평가를 실시하여 결과의 변화를 조사하였다. 유효성분과 함량이 다른 169종 중 22종이 조제 및 살포 시 피부흡수율 default가 10%였고 109종이 조제 시 25%, 38종이 조제 시 75%로 분류되었다. 131품목 223건에 대해 위해성평가를 실시한 결과 한국 기준을 적용하였을 때 개인보호 착용 시 43건이 위해성이 높았고 EU 기준에서는 121건이 위해성이 높았다. 121건 중 피부흡수율 보다 낮은 경구흡수율을 적용하였을 때 107건이 위해성이 높았다. 다양한 피부흡수율 적용 시 10% 단일 피부흡수율 적용 시보다 위해성이 높은 경우가 2.5배 증가하였다. 따라서, 야외시험 제출 요구와 적용 작물 삭제가 증가할 것으로 예상되었다.
