방사성 제논이란? | 우라늄 핵분열로 인해 발생하는 전체 생성 기체 중 비활성 기체는 10% 수준으로 그 중 대부분인 약 90%가 제논 동위원소이며 이외에도 크립톤이 함께 생성된다. 그 중 방사성 제논은 반감기가 짧아 대기 중에 축적되지 않으며 강수 등에 의해 씻겨나가지 않으므로 핵실험 감시에 적합한 핵종이다. 2000년대부터 International Noble Gas Experiment (INGE)의 주도로 방사성 제논 탐지기술이 개발되었으며 Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO)의 International Monitoring System (IMS)에서 그 기술을 도입하여 운용하고 있다[1-5]. | |
