본 연구는 지속가능 공급망 활동이 공급망에 참여하는 참여자들의 성과에 어떻게 영향을 미치는지를 살펴 보고자 하였다. 구체적으로 지속가능 공급망 활동을 구성하는 경제적, 환경적, 사회적 활동들이 공급사의 운영성과와 구매사의 운영성과, 그리고 고객성과에 어떻게 영향을 미치는지를 참여 기업 간 성과창출의 과정을 중심으로 실증분석 하였다. 연구의 수행을 위하여 공급망관리, 구매, 협력사, 물류관리를 담당하는 직원을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고, 최종 193부의 유효한 데이터를 분석하여 연구가설을 검증하였다. 분석결과 지속가능 공급망의 경제적, 사회적 활동은 공급사의 성과와 구매사 성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났지만, 환경적 활동은 공급사 성과에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 또, 구매사 성과는 고객만족과 고객유지율에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과를 통해 지속가능 공급망 활동의 시장성과 창출 프로세스를 설명할 수 있는 이론적 토대를 마련할 수 있었으며, 기업들에게는 지속가능 공급망 활동과 관련한 전략적 시사점을 제공해 줄 수 있다.
