고흡수성 중합물질의 자연발화 한계온도를 구하기 위하여 용기의 충전상태를 변형하여 발화한계온도를 구하였다. 실험에 사용한 용기의 크기는 가로와 세로의 길이를 20cm×20cm로 하고 두께를 3cm, 5cm, 7cm, 14cm하여 시료의 충전상태에 따른 온도의 변화를 관찰하였으며, 자연발화한계온도의 결과를 Table 1에 나타내었다.
