본 연구는 청소년의 학업무기력에 영향을 미치는 우울, 자아존중감 및 사회적 위축의 구조적 관계를 알아보기 위해 수행되었다. 한국아동·청소년패널조사 2018의 중 1패널의 제4차 년도(2021년) 자료를 이용하였으며, 대상자는 고등학교 1학년 2,265명이었다. 본 연구에서 자료는 SmartPLS 3.0을 이용하여 부분최소제곱법 기반의 구조방정식모형을 통해 분석되었다. 분석 결과, 청소년의 학업무기력에 우울과 사회적 위축은 유의한 정적 영향을 주었으며, 자아존중감은 유의한 부적 영향을 주었다. 또한 우울과 학업무기력 간의 관계에서 사회적 위축은 유의한 정적 매개영향을 주었다. 그러므로 청소년의 학업 무기력에 대한 접근 시 우울, 자아존중감 및 사회적 위축과의 영향 관계를 고려한 전략이 요구된다.
