이 연구는 119구급대원을 대상으로 보수교육 만족도 및 요구도를 탐색하고 보수교육의 목적에 맞게 역량을 강화시킬 수 있는 보수교육프로그램 개발 및 운영을 모색하기 위해 시도되었다. 일반적 특성에 따른 보수교육 만족도는 연령, 자격, 임상 경력 유무에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었으며, 보수교육주제 요구도는 모든 직군에서 '전문외상 처치술'이 가장 높은 요구도를 보였으며 추가로 희망하는 주제는 정신질환자 관리, 다양한 현장 사례 중심 교육으로. 응급환자 처치 업무에 도움이 되는 실무적인 주제에 대한 선호도가 높음을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 보수교육 대상자의 일반적 특성을 고려하여 다 각도로 보수교육 운영안을 개선하려는 노력이 필요할 것으로 여겨지며 보수교육 대상자의 요구를 반영해서 교육 운영 방법을 개선하고 보수교육 주제를 실무에 맞는 주제로 선정하여 보수교육의 질적향상을 도모해야 할 것이다.
