This study was to investigate the effects of oxygenated water drinking before and during endurance treadmill exercise on the blood enzyme and metabolites (LDH, CK, lactate, ammonia) concerning with fatigue and various respiratory parameters indicating the aerobic capacity. All eleven healthy students belong to department of sports science volunteered for this study. This study was designed as a double-blind cross experiments. All subjects completed two, sequential gradual maximal exercise tests for inducing the subject"s exhaustion states on two separate days. Each subject was asked to drink 500㎖ of super oxygenated water and placebo water fifteen minutes before exercise, respectively on the two trials, then 200㎖ of bottled water every each 10 min- stage, right after exhaustion, and 10min-recovery. Blood samples were taken from each subject"s cephalin veins at rest, every end of stage, right after exercise and after 20 minutes recovery and various respiratory parameters such as VO₂, VE, VCO₂, RER and Blood Pressure, %SaO₂, HR etc. were measured in resting state, during exercise and recovery. Exercise protocol consisted of 6 stage gradual treadmill exercise and all subjects were forced to exert their maximal efforts to the exhaustion state. The data obtained were analyzed by two-way repeated ANOVA and post-hoc. and presented as mean±standard deviation. These experimental results were accompanied with a significant decrease of VO₂, HR, S-BP, blood ammonia level with the increase of %SaO₂ in the case of the oxygenated water drinking. The significantly lower accumulation of blood lactate was found in oxyganated water drinking trial compared to plain water trial. On the other hand, the changes of blood LDH and CK levels showed no significant difference between both trials. These results shows the possibility that the oxygenated water drinking before and during endurance types of exercise can contribute to alleviated the fatigue and then improve the endurance performance.
