Pollination is an important process of angiosperm reproduction which enable the angiosperm plant to produce seeds and fruits. In fruit tree orchards, pollinating insects are the essential elements for the quality production of fruit. We studied the flower-visiting bee fauna from the major fruit crops such as apple, pear, peach and persimmons in blooming season, 2007. We found high diversity and abundance of hymenopteran flower-visitors from apple and peach, moderate from persimmons and lower from pear. In all orchard systems, Western honeybee, Apis mellifera L. dominated with the proportion of 69.1, 52.2, 85.0, 69.9% from apple, pear, peach and persimmons, respectively. Similarity analysis showed that the flower-visiting hymenoptera fauna clustered primarily by the fruit species, then secondarily by the other variables of each orchard. From apple, Colletinae with Panurginus crawfordi, Halictinae with many Lasioglossum species and Eucera spuratipes were characteristic, while Anthophorinae with Tetralonia nipponense was from persimmons. No A. cerana was found, but a few individuals of Bombus terrestris. Conservation of pollinating insects and the possible threat of introduced bees on native fauna were further discussed.
