The purpose of this study is to investigate both the reconstruction of a word form and the feature of orthography and phoneme appeared in its processes through the different transcription of the same sound in Koguryeo language. The object of this study is a pig of Koguryeo language. It was written by ‘猪’, "烏斯", "烏生", ‘猪守’, ‘猪䢘’, "猪闌" in Samguksagi Vol. 35 and 37. I regards the Chinese character "闌" as an error in writing. The orthography, correspondent relation, and reading sound of morphemes are defined as follows. The Chinese characters "烏斯", "烏生" are the Eumcha(音借) transcription of *[usi] and *[usu]. The Chinese character ‘猪’ is the Huncha(訓借) transcription of *[usi] or *[usu]. The Chinese characters ‘猪守’, ‘猪䢘’ are the Maleumcheomgi(末音添記) transcription of *[usu]. Based on the definition mentioned before, the features of orthography and phoneme are described as follows. First, Maleumcheomgi transcription was an orthography invented by Koguryeo people. Second, there was not /ŋ/ in Koguryeo language because "生" was interchangeablely written with 斯․守․䢘. Third, there was the opposition of vowel in the word-final just like the reading sound of "斯*[si]" and "守*[su]". And the same phenomenon was appeared in the transcription of names of place and person in Koguryeo language. Therefore, there was the alternation of vowels, *[i] and *[u] in the word-final of Koguryeo language.
