연구의 목적은 금용자연휴양림일대를 식물사회학적인 방법으로 식생분류하여 생태적인 관리를 위한 자료를 제시하는데 있다. 금봉자연휴양림은 경북 의성군에 위치하고 있으며, 일대의 산림은 분석한 결과 2개군 14군락으로 분류되었다.
Ⅰ. 큰기름새군(Spodiopogon cotulifer group)
1. 신갈나무-쇠물푸레이군(Quercus mongolica-Fraxinus sieboldiana group)
