The purpose of this study is to suggest an effective method on pronunciation education for the Japanese who are learning Korean as a second language by examining the need of the Japanese learners on the pronunciation program. Futhermore, it aims to maximize the efficiency of Korean class suggesting interesting and motive-deriving class materials and teaching the methods for the learners based on the result realized through the study. In this study, the teaching method was divided into phoneme and phoneme changes based on the teaching design, which was priory suggested through the result on the need of the Japanese learners. When it came to teach phoneme, the fact that the basic vowels in Korean were made from the words Heaven (天/ㆍ), Earth (地/ㅡ), and Human (人/ㅣ) was explained and the consonants were made by the King Sejong conceptualizing pronouncing organs. For example, the fact that the pronunciation of a word like "Kimchi," which has a final consonant, was pronounced "Kimuchi" based on the [C-V] syllable system in Japanese was instructed. At that time, the teaching method of counting syllables with fingers helped the learners to understand the content easily. Especially when differentiating "fricative consonant / aspiration / fortis," which was one of challenging materials for Japanese learners, made sure the level of breath by placing long-tom piece of tissue right in front of their nose when practicing aspiration. For fortis, the movement of a piece of paper was acknowledged as the pressure given to the uvula and it was effective to use air going out or picture for the pronunciation practice. The phoneme change is the biggest challenge to the foreign learners since its indication and pronunciation are different. For this reason, the teaching method followed "Introduction → Suggestion (Explaining principles)→Practice→Application → Conclusion" based on the general teaching procedure in Korean education. As a result, it was effective to explain simple principles and then suggest similar examples and sentences repeatedly for practice. At the end, various approaches that were exercised in a real setting were suggested.
