Abstract

What's new?This is the largest study of its kind using data extracted directly from routine healthcare records of people in the UK with diabetes.We have documented a large group of people with Type?1 and Type?2 diabetes who have significant reductions in estimated glomerular filtration rate in the absence of albuminuria.Despite nationally approved clinical guidance and an incentivized remuneration scheme in primary care, we also found that many patients were failing to achieve minimum targets for blood pressure and blood glucose control.
