이 연구의 목적은 시각장애학교 2~3학년 고등학교과정에 재학 중인 중도시각장애학생의 학교생활에 대한 만족도를 조사하여 이들의 학교생활 개선을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는데 있다. 이를 위해 전국 12개 시각장애학교 113명의 중도시각장애 고등학생에게 학교생활전반, 교우관계, 교사와의 관계, 수업과 학습, 학교 복지시설 등의 5개 하위요인으로 구성된 학교생활만족도 설문지를 통해 이들의 성별, 학년 차별, 시각장애정도별, 연령대별, 시각장애발생시기별, 최종학력별 등의 배경변인별로 분석하였다.
연구 결과를 바탕으로 도출된 결론을 요약하면, 우선 ?도시각장애 고등학생들의 학교생활 만족도는 고등부 2년차 학생이 1년차 학생보다 만족도가 더 높았고, 저시력학생이 맹학생보다 만족도가 더 높았다. 학교생활 만족도를 장애발생시기별로 분류하면 10~20대와 30~40대에 장애가 발생한 학생이 50~60대에 장애가 발생한 학생보다 만족도가 더 높았고, 재학생 연령대별로는 40대 학생이 20대, 30대, 50대, 60대 학생보다 만족도가 더 높았다.

The object of this study is to provide basic materials in order to ameliorate students’ school life through the investigated satisfaction degree of the students with lately visual impairments who attend the school for the visual impairments. In order to carry it out, 113 students with lately visual impairments who attend 12 senior high schools for the blind are given questionnaire sheet composed of 5 infra factors composed of school life satisfaction degree. By means of questionnaire sheets, those are analyzed according to background variables. From the derived conclusion, summary is as follows. In the first place, in the area of school life of students who are lately visual impairments, the satisfaction degree, students’ satisfaction degree who are in 2nd grade are higher than that of who are in 1st grade, that of low vision is higher than that of who are blind. In the area of school life satisfaction degree, divided according to the offspring of handicaps, the divided according to the offspring time of handicaps, the satisfaction degree of students whose offspring time and that of students whose offspring time of handicaps are between thirties and forties are higher than that of students whose offspring time of handicaps are between fifties and sixties. On the base of these studies results, the conclusion is derived. Along with this, the needed items as successive study are suggested as suggestion.
