Digital TV broadcast technology is growing rapidly. One among many digital TV standards that has been develoved is DVB standard. When we want to use non-DVB enabler device such as general smartphone as a DVB receiver, we need to develop applications that can run on that device. In this paper, it is presented how we develop such application and emphasize in designing Electronic Service Guide (ESG) as a part of the whole applications. After the successful design of ESG, we then evaluate the performance of each ESG delivery techniques. Delivery techniques tested were FTP, HTTP, and FLUTE. The analysis parameters were the delivery time, overhead, and throughput delivery. ESG files that have been designed simply to answer the needs of the information on these scenarios and can serve other facilities such as polls, traffic, and file download service. For delivery, FTP is more reliable than HTTP for the pull method, while the FLUTE is suitable for the push method.
