The method according to claim 1, wherein the STAT3-mediated disease is selected from the group consisting of inflammatory diseases, autoimmune diseases, and metabolic diseases. 6. The method according to claim 5, wherein the inflammatory disease is selected from the group consisting of plasmacytosis, hyperimmunoglobulinemia, anemia, nephritis, cachexia, castleman's disease, mesangium proliferative nephritis, uveitis, chronic thyroiditis, delayed hypersensitivity, inflammatory bowel disease, pancreatitis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, diabetes, and Alzheimer's disease. 7.
