A hand grip is slidably disposed on the handle of a tool, of the type normally requiring the use of two hands such as an ax, broom or shovel, for grasping by one of the hands of the user, and for movement between a stop disposed proximate the free end of the handle and a stop, if required, disposed proximate the tool end of the handle.
