A receptacle for a paint can and brushes is mounted for quick release to a support bracket, which in turn is pivotally attached to a clamping bracket, adapted to be clamped to the side rail of the ladder. The pivotal attachment between the ladder clamping bracket and the receptacle support bracket insures that the paint can remains level regardless of ladder inclination.
