Cast coating compositions, processes of using them and cast coated products are described. The compositions comprise pigment and binder, and the binder includes a polymer which has Tg from 0°to 45°C, Tg-Tf from 5°to 25°C and which is in the form of a latex having an average particle size of less tha

A process of forming a cast coating on a substrate comprising: applying to the substrate an aqueous coating composition comprising, per 100 parts by weight solids, at least 60 parts pigment and less than 40 parts of a synthetic resin binder, in which from 40 to 100% dry weight of the binder is a polymer which has a Tg from 0°to 45°C and a Tg－Tf from 5°to 25°C. and which is in the form of a latex having an average particle size of less than 0.5 microns; drying the coated substrate so that at least half the water applied with the coating composition is removed; applying water to the surface of the coating and molding the coating.
